After breakfast, we were on our way to explore Torndirrup National Park. First stop was Albany Wind Farm.
Drive to Torndirrup National Park:
The scenic view of the Wind farm and the coastal landscape, definitely convince me that it was a right decision to travel 500km to Albany. The family spent much time taking picture every few steps we took alone the coastal trail.
Next stop it was The Gap where the family again spend much time taking picture every corner they can find, while Jaydon enjoy venturing and playing on the rocks.
With the time spend on the above 2 places, we did not have time to visit the blow hole. Decided to give it a miss and headed for Discovery Bay (ex Whale World). We were apprehensive to go for the full tour due to walk which she might have to take during the walk. However, the kind staff of Discovery Bay offered us a wheel chair. With that, we happily bought the full pass for the whole family to Whale World and the Australian Wildlife park. The kids have some time playing at the playground before heading for the 40 mins tour on Albany’s Historic Whaling Station. We ventured onboard the Cheynes IV Whalechaser, while the kids have fun climbing up and down and pretending that they are sailor onboard the ship.
After covering the ground of Whale world, decided to have lunch at the café before heading up to the Australian Wildlife park.
After getting our fill, we drove up to the Australian Wildlife park (too lazy to walk). With the wheel chair mother-in-law was feeling good. It was wheel chair accessible 95% of the ground. In the park, the kids and adults alike love the animals. We manage to touch the Koala and there is a petting section in the park where the kids manage to interect (safely) with the Kangaroos and wallabies. Nephew and Niece even manage to take a selfie with the kangaroo.
It was late afternoon, and we decided it was enough of whales and kangaroo. We made our way to Middleton Beach. Grandpa and Grandma have coffee at the café, while the more nimble adults and kids walked up the boardwalk alone Middleton Beach (only to realize you could actually drive up to the top of the boardwalk).
Decided to head back to our lodge after seeing that everyone is tired. We decided to buy back some fried noodles and fried rice from nearby Chinese restaurant (Three Plenties Palace), so that everyone can rest in the apartment.
