Today we will spend the time venturing Kiyomizudera & surround and ending our walk at Gion district.
We took a cab to Kiyomizudera Temple. It is best to take a cab, as it save us some energy from walking uphill to Kiyomizudera. It was pretty crowded even though we are there at around 10am (We were advised to go early in the day, if possible, as it tends to be less crowded in the morning). The family took a stroll up the path towards them temple.
It is a pleasant place to walk, however, as crowd builds up, we were happy to make our way down from the temple.
Upon exiting Kiyomizudera, we walk down the temple approach while exploring the shops along the way.
We found a quaint little restaurant near Ninenzaka Slope.
After lunch we proceed walking down to Maruyama Park. As we walk further away from Kiyomizudera temple, the crowd get lesser and lesser. it was more pleasant as we head down the hill.
Maruyama Park looks really peaceful in the pictures. However, behind the camera was a big crowd of locals & tourist enjoying the beautiful Park.
We exited Maruyama Park, while Jaydon chase the pigeons all the way out of the park. We walk pass Yasaka-jinja Shrine, which was at the entrance of Maruyama Park, towards Shimbashi-dori Street.
Shimbashi-dori Street.
From Shimbashi-dori street, we walked across the Kamogawa River towards Nishiki Market.
Nishiki Market is a stretch of walkway with food stall from the start to the end of the street (sheltered).
After the long walk since morning, we decided to head back to our hotel on taxi.
You cannot imagine how happy we were when we reach back to our Ryokan.
While waiting for our dinner served in our room… it is playtime for Jaydon with his tired parents.
Dinner was served at 6.30pm and we were so glad that we can rest our tired feet while having our dinner in our room.
Jaydon & Daddy have an Onsen after dinner. 🙂
